Wittenstein has enhanced the alpha V-Drive® servo worm gear, offering variety for applications and bringing the worm gear to a new level. The improved range of V-Drive+ boasts optimized hollow-flank teeth for accuracy and low backlash, 50% more torque and 97% efficiencies - the highest for servo worm gears on the market.

The new generation of the V-Drive® gearbox comes in two versions:

• V-Drive+ - The plus stands for torque (replaces the classic V-Drive and shown in the photo with optional 2K paint)

 VDH (050/063/080/100), VDS (050/063/080/100), VDT (050/063/080/100)

• V-Drive economy - High quality with maximum results (low-cost alternative for low-duty applications)

• Torsional backlash < 8 arcmin
• Gear reducer available as IP65, with washdown options such as lacquer coated 3K paint, nickel-plated (corrosion resistant), stainless-steel gearbox and food-grade grease

New sizing philosophy:

• T_2max - T_2max means the maximum torque which can be transmitted by the gearbox. This value can be chosen for applications that can accept a slight increase in backlash over time.
• T_2Servo - T_2Servo is a special value for precision applications in which a minimum backlash must be guaranteed over the life of the gearbox. The increase in backlash seen in other worm gears is less due to the optimized hollow flank teeth.
