Simulator Sidestick for Fixed Wing Systems
This video shows WITTENSTEIN aerospace and simulation's haptic simulator sidestick system used in fixed wing aircraft simulators. As the system traverses, it recognizes its mechanical travel range and is recording a force offset. With a simple command, the sidestick can be set into passive or active states. Whilst in the active, power is being commanded to the actuators and the axes are being controlled to provide the forces on the grip. By adjusting parameters within the software, the tactile feedback cues to the user can change respective to the flight conditions.
